Puppy & Dog Training Classes for the Wairarapa
Our puppy & dog training classes are All About real life results.
Why our classes work:
Experienced, credentialed instructor
Our instructor is the only Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner in the Wairarapa, along with holding her Certificate III in Dog Behaviour & Training. (She’s a lot of fun, too.)
Small class size
You and your dog will share our instructor’s attention with only four additional dogs and their people, max. That means lots of opportunity for individualized focus and questions.
All positive training
Our instructor strives to make training classes a great time for you and your dog, so we use only easy-to-learn, effective, science-based positive reinforcement training methods.
Real life focus
Unlike the typical dog training class curriculum, ours focuses on real-life application. After all, results in class are great, but results at home and out in the world are far better.
“ We like to have real fun, too ”
Please note: your dog must be dog and people friendly to attend our classes. If your dog is uncomfortable around strange people and dogs, please ask about private training as this may be a better option for your training needs.

Un-Chase!® Dog Training Programmes
Does your dog chase cars, bikes, skateboarders, cats, chickens, livestock or other wildlife?
Chasing is a natural canine instinct and the desire to chase is inherent in many dogs. How can we stop our dog from chasing something they shouldn’t?
Un-Chase!® and the Un-Chase!® logo are owned by Alexis Davison trading as Un-Chase!® and are used under licence.
Meet your instructor, April Williams
I love teaching dog training classes!
Really, there’s little as fun and rewarding as seeing dog parents and their four-legged “fur kids” enjoying “a-ha” moments together. That moment when a dog realizes that sitting is her ticket to all things good. Or when a student is able to call her usually unresponsive dog away from a high-level distraction. I live for and celebrate these moments—and I hope to make some of them with you!

Dogs Like To Learn
A poem by Wallie
Dogs like to learn,
because we have lots of energy to burn.
We don’t mean to be bad,
and we love to see you glad.
Like when we sit to say hi,
or to politely ask for a bite of your pie.
Or when we leave a ball
to come when you call.
It’s better when we walk by your side
instead of taking you for a ride.
And when we lie down
instead of acting like a clown.
The thing is, we don’t come knowing what to do,
so it’s good to take us to school so you won’t be blue.
